Technology Companies (FANG) before Earnings Season

Updated: Sep 13, 2019

The Earnings season is hovering over the technology firms starting Thursday 26th October 2017. Full Earnings Calendar can be found here. Notably the largest tech firms are losing their stocks price in a largest bearish rally for 2017 before the Earnings start. Analysts expect lower than expected returns/outcome from the largest companies in specific and thus are lowering their prior ratings in comparison to mid-size to smaller technology firms. This can be seen from the stocks movement for the FANG group firm (above: chart source Bloomberg). FANG stands for Facebook, Apple, Netflix and Alphabet company Google. Below chart shows a more detailed view for an year for these four stocks.

Time to mark dates for Earnings release for each of interested tech stocks and place trades accordingly: Buy of Dip and Sell on Rally for short term gains. Overall stocks are at all time highs, so still expensive to get big-time investments into them.
